The "Ahead of the Tape" article explained how the stock market is expected to drop once again this third quarter. The stock market quarters are periods of three months in a fiscal year. These periods of time are used to measure the revenue of a company or companies. The article also mentions that the market had been expected to rise but instead is falling again. They are hoping for it to pick in the first quarter next fiscal year.

Business Planning

This training session taught me that in order for your business to be successful, you must understand customers, understand exactly what their needs are. You must also know your business' strengths and weaknesses, so you can really focus on your strength. Focusing on your strength will help you outshine your competition, because knowing your competition is also another important element. A business plan is important because it gives you a blueprint to follow when you finally starting the business. In your business plan, you should always write your executive summary last. Since it sums up what your business plan says, it should be written carefully, it is the most important part. You must also know how to present your business plan well to investors because they will either invest their money in your business or not, it just depends on how well you know your business, and how exactly you will be successful.

Marketing

The SBA videos on marketing were a review of what the chapter in the book taught me. It really emphasized on the fact that reaching out to the right target market was a key to success in your business. Also, you must make sure your product comes out at the right time. It should come out when the consumers need it the most. The video also taught me that conducting research and having your four P's set up is another key element in your success.

College as of now!

The week before the semester began I was so nervous to show up and not know where anything was around campus. I was so sure I was going to be lost, going to be late to all my classes, I was going to look like a total freshman! But thankfully college has been nothing like that. It has been pretty amazing actually!
So far I enjoy all my classes and the people in them. Compared to my high school, people are a lot more competitive when it comes to their education, people actually want to learn now! I think it is pretty amazing and it helps me by encouraging me to be better.
Although I have such a busy schedule nowadays, it is nice to have the mentality that there is always something that needs to be done. It helps me keep track of everything I have to do in order, and I never get lazy to do it. The only thing I miss in college is my best friend, but keeping myself busy helps fill the void. Right now though, I am looking forward to what the rest of the semester has in store.

SBA videos (:

The SBA videos on management taught me in more detail how technology is going to play a huge part in business in the near future. It is growing and changing so quickly but it is important to keep up with it. These videos also taught me how doing research will also help when thinking about starting your own business. This will be useful to me as one day I hope to be an entrepreneur.

Our Deepest Fear...

My interpretation of this poem is that often people are afraid to be extraordinary. Sometimes we are uncomfortable doing things alone so we depend on others to do things with you and to share your ideas with. To me it also means that we often do not want to outshine others because we might hurt their feelings or make them feel dumb.
But this poem inspires me to do things for myself and to stop being dependent on others to do things with me. It also inspires me to let my imagination run wild and not be afraid to express my ideas because they might be something great. The spotlight should not be a fear but a position to strive for if you want success. You should never let others decide what you can and can not do. Our minds are so powerful and if you really set your mind to something, you are capable of achieving great things in life.
